In a major "first" for the area, construction has started on a Fry’s grocery store in downtown Phoenix. It took vision, belief and many years of work to bring a grocery store to the Phoenix urban core. The development that will also bring 330 apartments and 200,000-square-feet of office space will house the first grocery store in the area.
A key factor in obtaining this development was Arizona State University bringing its nursing, journalism and law schools downtown. The significant presence of ASU, along with attractions such as award-winning restaurants, boutiques, and major sports venues, has helped to attract many new residents to downtown.
